“From the moment I held the box of colors in my hands, I knew this was my life. I threw myself into it like a beast that plunges towards the thing it loves.”
― Henri Matisse

Little Man chose this little piece of art for his gallery this week. It’s a project that he did in his art class, and was pretty proud of it. It’s called “Daydream…” because it’s made of some sort of semi-transparent paper, rather than of glass. This, of course, bummed him out. I told him that there was probably a good reason why they didn’t give glass shards to a group of 10-and-11-year-old boys for the purpose of “creative expression.” © Racheal Lee Bradford

“There is only one way to see things, until someone shows us how to look at them with different eyes.” -Pablo Picasso

This week, I encouraged Little Man to create something inspired by Matisse, but he wasn’t having it. Instead he opted to try his hand at Cubism, because he thinks Picasso is “pretty cool.” I really dig the drawing, but I think the real art is in his tongue-in-cheek title! © Racheal Lee Bradford
